Das Zombie-Action-Abenteuer „DayZ“ befindet sich weiterhin auf der Erfolgsspur und somit immer größerer Beliebtheit, obwohl wir von einer Mod auf Basis des Shooters ARMA 2 sprechen, die sich noch im Alphastatus befindet.
Doch um was geht es bei DayZ?
Als Spieler wirst Du in eine knallharte Überlebenssimulation versetzt, die in einem ehemaligen sowjetischen Staat stattfindet. Es ist so, dass die Bewohner des Staates durch mysteriöse Umstände (Virus) in Zombies verwandelt werden, die mal wieder nur ein Ziel haben: Dich!
Das klingt in erster Linie nach 08/15 Horror-Survival-Kost – allerdings in einer Intensität und Umsetzung, die ich selten zuvor erlebt habe. Und dabei muss es noch nicht einmal Gore bzw. Splattereffekte wie am Fließband geben.
Am Anfang ausgestattet mit keiner Waffe und nur wenig Vorräten geht es auf die Reise. Der Clou – als Multiplayer-Titel kann man sich in einer Gruppe vereinigen, um so ggf. länger zu überleben oder sich gegen die Banditen (Oh ja – so was gibt es auch) zu schützen, denn nicht nur die Zombies können es Dir schwer machen.
Rundum ist also nicht die geballte Feuerkraft gefragt, sondern DayZ erfordert sehr taktisches Vorgehen.
Aktuell liegt die durchschnittliche Überlebensdauer bei 49 Minuten.
